A member of the public visits your office with a partially eaten meat pie from a local bakery.  There are small metal shavings in the meat pie and the person advises that he noticed the metal shavings after eating half of the pie.

  1. What are the public health concerns associated with this situation?

  2. How would you follow-up with the individual?

  3. When inspecting the bakery, what would you look for to address this complaint?

  4. You inspect the meat grinder and find signs that it is malfunctioning and there are large scrape marks in the metal where pieces are grinding against each other. What actions would you take to address this situation?
